Leyte is an island in the Visayas group of islands in the Philippines. It is the eighth largest island in the Philippines by land area.
We got our roundtrip ticket to Leyte for only 950php (PISO SALE!). We don't really have a concrete itinerary so we are all over the place. We visited 3 beaches, namely, Sambawan Island, Kalanggaman Island and Canigao Island. Each one of them is amazing, all of them didn't disappoint!
I loved our Sambawan trip because we basically have the island to ourselves! We climbed an uphill before we swam but it was an easy hike. I don't remember being all tired. It was somewhat rainy but its still beautiful! We were told to eat first as there were no shops in the island.
For our second day, we went to Kalanggaman Island. The place was not that crowded but there are still a lot of people. Our trip included our lunch and it was an amazing SEAFOOD PLATTER! The island was breathtaking but the white sand was not mostly sand. It was a combination of shells and pebbles. It was still a beauty but SLIPPERS/AQUA SHOES IS A MUST! There are limited shops in the island so it was really for the best that we have the package tour.
On our third day, we went to Canigao Island and again we got the island to ourselves! I was really hungry before the trip so I went and bought a waffle (nothing was inside.) in the pier. Aside for the waffle disaster, everyone in the pier and in the island are very hospitable. We also had a family with us in the boat and they even offer us food and shelter if ever we will be needing it.
